All Japan Kyokushin Union - JAPAN, April 3, 2013
Dear Shihan, Sensei, Sempai,
Hopefully you and all the ones close to you are doing fine.
Please find in the attached document the reply of the Board of the All Japan Kyokushin Union to the letter of Shihan Hussein Suleiman, of which he sent a copy to several persons amongst you.
In this letter he wrote he is intending to start an organization called “World All Kyokushin Karate Union.”
All Japan Kyokushin Union
The letter of Shihan Hussein Suleiman.
Dear Shihan Hussein Suleiman,
Please note that we have received your letter announcing that you want to recruit members for your organization, and later have these recognized by the All Japan Kyokushin Union.
Please note that this is in direct conflict with the rules of the All Japan Kyokushin Union. Before a dojo can become a member of a Regional Kyokushin Union, this dojo must be a recognized dojo by the All Japan Kyokushin Union. Before recognizing a dojo, of course the All Japan Kyokushin Union always contacts first the dojo operators in the region concerned to avoid conflicts.
Please note the following points from the All Japan Kyokushin Union rulebook:
2) General basic idea
The Kyokushin Union takes the standpoint that it will not put any restrictions on the activities of the branches of the affiliated independent and autonomous dojo. But on the other hand the Karate Union expects that all will keep themselves to the fixed agreements and the like, and that all will cooperate.
Affiliated dojos have to recognize each other and wherever the possibility exists to cooperate, they should do so.
Under no circumstances should an affiliated group act in the interest of its own dojo or attempt to gain authority over another dojo or the Union as a whole.
1. Bounds of the activities of members.
As the Kyokushin Union is gathering individual independent dojos, in principle the dojo concerned has the right to organize activities only in the country where it is registered.
We understand that you would like to help the All Japan Kyokushin Union, probably you have this idea because of the Sokyokushin that all of a sudden popped up.
Please note that that problem is not fully solved yet, please do not make it more complicated.
Therefore we prefer that you would not break the rules of the All Japan Kyokushin Union.
On the other hand we would like you to do away with the World All Kyokushin Karate Union
1) As was mentioned already to you before, the Canadian dojo operators of recognized dojo by the All Japan Kyokushin Union in Canada have complained that you have put a name and picture on a map on your homepage of a person who is known as “a fraud” in that region. You have not done anything to do away with this situation. This person concerned has nothing to do with the All Japan Kyokushin Union, but as your site mentions World Kyokushin Union, it suggests these persons have a link anyway as there are pictures of members of the Board of the All Japan Kyokushin Union and other members shown too.
2) Before you asked us to issue a Dan Certificate for a person of Arab descent, but he is having his dojo in Ukraine. The Ukrainian dojo operators recognized by the All Japan Kyokushin Union complained against that, as they cannot recognize him, it is a known fact in Ukraine that this person is not “at level”. You were very kind in returning his Dan certificate to us, but his info is still on your homepage mentioning World Kyokushin Union.
3) At the time of the World Tournament in Toyama you asked to invite a person of Arab descent who is now living in Australia, because you esteem he is a very important person.
In Australia no one of the Shihans has ever heard of him.
From your letter we understand that you are intending to make the organization big, but the facts show that this way of handling creates conflicts first to the All Japan Kyokushin Union, later to your own organization, this system does not work on the long way.
You know that it is the policy of the All Japan Kyokushin Union to gather only persons who believe in the All Japan Kyokushin Union philosophy, to work in harmony.
We understand that you want to help your personal friends, but this does not work in the international network of the All Japan Kyokushin Union.
The All Japan Kyokushin Union has strict rules, democratic rules, rules about grades and at the same time we keep up the tradition that we inherited from Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, we want to keep our reputation.
Therefore we advise you strongly to stop your plan to upgrade your Academy to an organization that you call “World Kyokushin Union”, it took us many years to build up a democratic organization.
We; meaning the Board and all members of the All Japan Kyokushin Union, will not allow you to take all of us back to the days of a dictator.
Wishing for your understanding in this delicate matter, we hope that you will continue in putting efforts for Kyokushin in the Academy,
All Japan Kyokushin Union
